exploring world heritage sites in virtual reality

Cultural heritage is witness of time, displaying ancient traditions. However, both through natural and artificial impact, ancient remains are threatened to fade.

Our approach offers chance to vividly recreate our cultural past despite an ever changing environment. Users virtually enter a given space and find themselves in a historic setting. Being part of a virtual 3D setting is a great opportunity to make a space imaginable. Especially when it comes to exteriors,  historical sites and architectural objects, virtual reality applications are a unique method for visualization.

The main advantage in comparison to previous approaches is that users virtually enter the given space and get a feeling of being a part of the environment. being a part of a 3D space is naturally useful for presentation of interiors. It is even more convenient for visualization of exteriors where visitors meet historical buildings and generally any architectural objects placed in a space.

Due to the diversity of network connections and performance of computers used by ordinary users, the efficient representation of virtual objects plays an important role.
